Gaydio FM
Manchester is to be the home of the first Ofcom-licenced gay radio station in the UK.
Gaydio has been running from Princess Street on a limited, part time broadcast for the last three years but the new license will allow it to expand to full time broadcasting and utilise an FM frequency. The channel will be able to be picked up across the whole of the city and be available around the world via the Internet.
That’s about all I’ve got on this I’m afraid, I just thought it was a nice story. And I quite liked the name, Gaydio. It’s like ‘gay’ and 'radio'...I’ll shut up.
