Mixing it up at 'The Lake'

There's a few changes taking place around WHLN at the moment, the observant amongst you may notice, not least the appointment of a dedicated editor. That's me, by the way - Percy. Nice to meet you.

Over the next few months I'm going to be giving WHLN a right old shake up, looking to secure it as the number one 'real' guide to Manchester. I think we're doing pretty well as it is but there are a few things that need some attention and also some plans in place to make the site even better. All bar, club and restaurant entries, for example, will be getting some preening - expect up to date photos and information on all your favourite places, as well as those that you haven't discovered yet. We'll also be looking to bring you some amazing deals and competitions along the way and, of course, keep you up to date with all that's going on in Manchester.

There's also plans for a new Live Music section, focussing on the best, and worst, of live music in the city. This will include a feature designed to showcase local talent. That's all I'm saying for now but keep your eyes peeled!

In the meantime, I am taking my new role very seriously and investigating all that this fair city has to offer. Tonight I am not going clubbing or to one of my favourite bars. I'm expanding my horizons, I'm stepping out of my comfort zone all in the name of making WHLN as informative and broad-minded as possible (honestly, that's what it is. I haven't really been forced into it). I'm going to the ballet, to see Swan Lake. Three whole hours of Swan Lake. I'll let you know if I survive.
