Go Camping with That Amazing Thing

Summer’s here and with a festival happening almost every weekend it’s looking to be a busy one! This year Manchester's festival calendar looks a little slim, but the boys behind That Amazing Thing! are taking a load of Mancs up to Cumbria (on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July) for their sixth annual camping trip. For those unaware of the Manchester promotions group, That Amazing Thing! formed in 2000 around DJs Mark Haran and Francis Wooff and their friends, growing from intimate house parties into informal club nights at unusual venues.
That Amazing Camping Trip! is one manifestation. Spread across two days, Rob Bright (Bugged Out grandmaster) will be heading Saturday night’s main festivities after a rather rural day of (optional) rambling and a local pub meal. This year there is an additional Friday option: for the impatient party people entertainment from Crowhead, Christian Wood (formerly Grand Central’s The Nudge) and Gremlin will take place in one of the pubs in Appleby for an extra £5 (payable on the night).
Tickets are a crippling £9 from ticketweb.co.uk (0870 060 0100) or Piccadilly Records, Oldham Street – perfect for a quirky weekend in the countryside.
More info on That Amazing Thing, and they promise to update their site with info on the camping trip very soon.
