The Tube returns

Word reaches us that 80s music show The Tube is to relaunch, with involvement from Tony Wilson and Andy Rourke from The Smiths.

Andy has been busy recently with the highly successful Manchester v Cancer gigs - a series of concerts that provide much needed money for the fight against cancer.

The show has been put together by a Manchester based media company and will be shown on Channel 4, the home of the original Tube, and the audio from the show will be streamed live on Channel4radio.com.

The return to Manchester is an obvious one, with the musical output of the city reaching the quality that we had back in the 80s and 90s. Indeed it was at Manchester's Hacienda that Madonna first appeared in the UK, and this was filmed and broadcast by the original Tube.
